Born onto a stage and performing ever since, Tall Mark will be sure to leave you with a smile on your face, a guffaw in your belly, and at least one moment of uncomfortable self-awareness in your heart.
Ditching a traditional homestead and hitting the road, Tall Mark has been able to bring his music to every province across the country. He has featured at Mariposa Folk Festival 2022 with The Awesome Music Project, at Islands Folk Fest 2023 with Trombonissimo, and at FernFest 2023 with Baby Face Brass. He has received grant funding from both FACTOR and Creative BC for his involvement in organizing music community. His diverse experiences translate into a distinctive package of honest storytelling, meaningful insight, and slick wit. A Tall Mark show is a glorious menagerie of musical influences; while his roots stem from Randy Newman, The Arrogant Worms, and Barenaked Ladies, he has been compared to recent virtuosos Bo Burnham and Tim Minchin. “What an honour!” he exclaims.
An uncanny ability to simultaneously find room for satire and compassion forms the bedrock of Tall Mark’s clever writing. Coupled with a background in stage improv, turning audience participation into a welcome part of the act makes Tall Mark’s intimate and engaging performances fresh every time.
