So I’ve been doing some painting… So I’ve been doing some painting…
This was the lock screen background on my phone fo This was the lock screen background on my phone for the entirety of 2020. I’ve been called out by just about every person that has seen it. Props to the one date that responded to my “Is your phone background *not* me?” quip by changing their wallpaper to it for the next two weeks. To my RMT, who burst out laughing when my phone went off in the middle of a tense detangling. To my mother, who insisted we should take a selfie doing “the face” together. And of course, to @lancasterphoto, who took the candid to begin with.
This wallpaper has been the gift that keeps on giving.

What a year. #2020inreview
Well, it's been two years since I've posted on IG, Well, it's been two years since I've posted on IG, and in this time away the one real thing I learned is that Instagram is less about the pic and more about the caption being some elaborate diary entry about how great your life has been. 😳 So here goes:

This isn't the best photo to summarize these past two years. I've got better ones around the globe of statues teaching me valuable lessons, lifestyle arguments with street art, teaching piano to newborns, and whatever the heck "Panther Milk" is (Berlin is wild, lemme tell ya). I've got pics of head-to-toe emo show regalia (w/ @rcf_music), dairy and dairy accessories (w/ @tallmarkmilk), being surrounded by human skeleton chandeliers, and floating on the lowest point on earth. Maybe some of these will see the internet some day. (I've got one of bare me scoffing at a sign that says "clothing required;" that one's just for me.) I've climbed to the peaks of all sorts of somewheres, shown time and time again that my height fits in all sorts of nowheres, yet this is the photo I choose?
What is the point in all of this?
Absolutely nothing. It's Instagram. Basically, I'm saying hi, yes, I still exist. 👋

2019 was crazy-good and then crazy-bad. 2020 was all-around crazy-okay. How can I do all that in one photo?

The answer is I can't. 🥸

So I picked this one, mainly because when it was first sent to me, I had an instictive caption that aligns with whatever the heck narrative people want to hear these days.
Swipe for it. ➡️
I guess you’re still a part of my life, Instagram, whether I like it or not- so thanks!
(Honestly, my Twitter is better. 🙊)

Like a muppet poking fun at the world, Tall Mark crafts songs of playful composition and finely-honed observational humour. Expect to laugh about everything from pizza toppings, to sports, to bumping into an ex on the worst day of your life. Born onto a stage and performing ever since, Tall Mark will be sure to leave you with a smile on your face, a guffaw in your belly, and at least one moment of uncomfortable self-awareness in your heart.
